Do you ever find yourself being overwhelmed by your emotions or negative thoughts about yourself? It is as though you become locked into the thoughts  and you just cannot seem to move on – the thoughts just keep going  around and around in your head.  Or perhaps you have problems with interpersonal relations and you often find yourself in conflict situations. People may say that you cannot or do not consider their viewpoint or feelings.

These are just a few scenarios that may be changed by learning and practising Mindsight.

Mindsight develops self-awareness –that is awareness of our physical or body reactions, it develops awareness of our emotions and also of our thoughts and behavioural responses. In addition, it enables us to respond more appropriately in difficult or conflict situations. In this way we become aware of our minds and of our mental processes without becoming overwhelmed by them. The result is that we have greater freedom in our actions and we are no longer ‘locked into’ the same old thought patterns or behaviours. Mindsight thus assists us to break free from habitual and reactive responses. It promotes internal as well as interpersonal peace through understanding. The benefits of Mindsight include greater effectiveness at school and at work as well as great satisfaction in our relationships with other people.

Change and growth never ‘just happens’ and Mindsight, as with any other exercise requires work. It is an expertise and as such it requires time, effort and practice. The exercises are, however, simple and I recommend and teach Mindsight to my clients as I am finding it to be highly beneficial. It is very beneficial for those who struggle with attention deficit problems (ADD and ADHD ), depression, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and addictions. A combination of neurofeedback and Mindsight yield very good results for those suffering from the mentioned conditions.
