About Meg Willows

Life is complex and never static. From birth till death, in each phase of our lives there are challenges and changes. These challenges and changes are often exciting but may, at times present difficulties. Sometimes we need assistance in overcoming the difficulties that arise.

My passion in life has always been to assist those who are facing challenges in life.

I began my professional life as a Primary School teacher and then qualified as a Remedial Therapist (Diploma in Remedial Education UNISA). Assisting children with learning problems.  To see them develop the skills required to learn and the social skills to function optimally in society provided great satisfaction.

After a number of years working as a remedial therapist, I decided to further my studies. I first completed a BA (Psych) and thereafter in 2011 I graduated with a BPsych degree.

I currently work as a Registered Counsellor in private practice and registered with the Health Professions Council.

My special interest and area of expertise is working with people who have suffered early life stress and who, as a result thereof, are not functioning optimally in their adult years. It is fulfilling and challenging to assist adults to develop self – awareness and self-acceptance and to grow in their interpersonal relationships. For most, this journey of self-discovery and development is often life changing.

My approach is Client Orientated and Systemic. My understanding is that we are multi-faceted beings – we live in our physical bodies but there are also psychological, spiritual and social dimensions to our lives.  We are all unique and my approach therefore is one which acknowledges the unique needs and experiences of the individual in a holistic way.
